THE “IN-BETWEEN”
In between HLR sessions is a great time for alum (and others familiar with the program and property) to come help us out with our service! We offer a work-trade: some incredible provisions in exchange for serving our nonprofit with bread-baking, picking citrus, farmer’s markets, and couple other projects around our the farm and property.
This time has a significantly lighter compared to the sessions (no teaching, group events, etc.) and its a more peaceful, quiet time at the house

We are so thankful for our volunteers that come back to help us. We want to be very clear that this is not a vacation opportunity: being an In-Between Volunteer is a privilege with specific responsibilities, it is a service opportunity. We choose volunteers that are capable serving well and upholding our reputation in the neighborhood and community as a high-character Christian program.
The In-Between is also time of social rest and recovery for all HLR and Makanalani staff. It is of utmost importance that volunteers respect staff and this period of rest and recovery. We will not tolerate loud, rowdy, or rebellious behavior from the volunteers.
